This page is for people living with disability, their families and supporters.
It has information about:
- what decision making is
- how to make decisions.
Decision making is when you think about your options and choose which option you like the best.
We all make decisions everyday.
An example would be choosing what to eat for breakfast or what to watch on TV.
Sometimes we have to make decisions about bigger things.
An example would be where we want to live or how we want to spend our money.
If you are using the National Disability Insurance Scheme you will need to make decisions about your personal support and funding.
You can make decisions alone, with your family, with a friend, with a support worker or with a professional.
If you need help to make decisions you can use Supported Decision Making.
